Description: Last summer, IBM released WebSphere Application Server 8.5. Since this was just one year after the release of WebSphere 8.0 the conventional wisdom might be "there must not be that many new features". Quite to the contrary, WebSphere 8.5 has quite a few new features designed for advanced management of WebSphere environments. These are termed "intelligent management" by IBM because they allow WebSphere to do things like automatically take actions like restarting a server if certain conditions are observed, support the concurrent deployment of multiple application versions and route user requests based on which application version they are using, expand the size of clusters and prioritize requests for high priority applications if SLA metrics are not being met. Many of these features are on the "wish list" of WebSphere shops so attend this webinar and learn about how to take advantage of this built-in functionality.

Description: IBM is a market leader in Business Process Management (BPM) software and with the recent release of IBM Business Process Manager (IBPM) 8.0 they will likely retain that title. Too often, however, we have seen clients that have deployed this software but don’t use the full potential because they are confused as to what features the core product of the IBM BPM platform can do. After all, software vendors are often more interested in selling you more software than making sure you are using that software to it’s full potential. During this webinar we will cover the various BPM scenarios your organization can take to effectively use the features of the IBPM 8.0 product. We will show that with the core product there are actually three different ways to develop business processes and each approach might involve slightly different roles and tools. This webinar is intended for a wide audience: - Business Analysts will learn how to use the much improved business process modeling capabilities and how they can even deploy a process to production without developers being required to write a single line of code! - Integration Developers can learn how they will still be required to implement more advanced system integrations and how the platform can help improve their coordination with the business requirements. - System Administrators will learn how all of the various administrative tools of the product are used by different job roles and depending on the type of business process being developed - Organizations that currently use WebSphere Process Server 7.0 or prior will learn how the new environment has a lot of added functionality built right in and requires less custom development to leverage.

Description: Are manufactured homes eligible for residential mortgages? What is the maximum allowable Loan To Value (LTV) ratio for single-family homes used as principal residences? how long, after a loss or damage has occurred, can an insured submit a claim? are chiropractic fees covered by my policy? who is eligible for income support for single parent families? who is eligible for the caregiver tax credit? Business rules, specific to mortgage banking, insurance, social welfare programs, and the tax code, provide the answers to these questions. Do you know them? are they being applied systematically? do they provide you with the intended competitive advantage-- where appropriate? are they being enforced by your information system? can you modify them quickly enough to respond to market changes in a timely fashion? The business rules approach addresses these challenges by focusing on the explicit capture, management, and execution of the business rules that underlie your business processes, separate from the other requirements of your information system. It is a key ingredient of decision management, which includes predictive analytics and business event processing which, together, combine to predict, formalize, enforce, and optimize business decisions. Agile Business Rule Development provides an incremental, iterative, and test-driven implementation of the business rules approach. This webinar will go over, 1) the basic tenets of decision management, in general, and the business rules approach, in particular, 2) some key business use cases, 3) principles of Agile Business Rule Development (ABRD), and 4) some of the technology landscape.

One of the most common tasks performed by WebSphere administrators (and even developers) is trying to determine what went wrong in an application when errors occur. Over the last few years IBM has made several free tools available that help troubleshoot problems. Since these are self-service tools, you can perform a lot of advanced troubleshooting without waiting on an IBM support ticket. In this webinar we will cover a number of these tools and how to use them to solve common problems. Since most of these tools are available for a range of WebSphere versions, this webinar will be useful to you no matter what version of WebSphere you are using.
